Accommodations
The interior accommodations on this highly modified Catalina 42 MK II were done with the intentions of creating a better distance cruiser for a couple. Ten Ten started out as a three cabin model and changes were made to make her more workable for a couple living aboard full time with room for occasional guests. Forward of the main bulkhead the layout is basically as the standard boat with the exception that the berth was raised a few inches which gives it a few more inches of width and additional storage underneath. All the way forward is the spacious walk in shower followed by the head with Vacuflush electric toilet. Aft of the main bulkhead on the full length of the starboard side of the salon is the galley which is essentially as in the standard boat with the exception of a full stainless steel counter top and additional storage under the stove in leiu of the oven. To port is a custom settee and seat. Under what was the original small nav desk is a freezer. The desk top for the nav desk is as standard and the electrical panel is outboard. Next aft at the base of the companionway is the office/nav desk/communication center. This area was created by using about the front five feet of the port stateroom which leaves the rest of the stateroom for storage which is accessed from the cockpit. Aft of the galley on the starboard side is the laundry/storage area. This is the aft head on the standard boat and now contains a Splendide washer and dryer and considerable additional storage. Aft of the laundry is the second stateroom with a custom mattress and custom storage on the outboard hull side. The interior accommodations are heated and cooled by a Cruiseair 16,000 BTU unit.
