Access is through the companionway forward with removable side panels for inspection and maintenance. The engine is in excellent condition and has received regular maintenance since new. Power transmission is through the factory Kanzaki unit which is also in excellent condition. Fuel is contained in a 53 gallon aluminum tank in excellent condition clean and without leaks.
Vessel Upgrades
In 2004 the wetted surface of the hull was stripped completely for a thorough gelcoat inspection. It was found to be in excellent condition free of any blisters or de-lamination. Very minor (dime-sized or smaller) nicks were faired along with the keel using the West System. After fairing the entire surface was barrier coated using Interlux 1000 and 2000 products then finished with Interlux Micron 66 bottom paint. The re-application of Micron 66 has continued annually since resulting in an absolutely beautiful bottom surface. New cutlass bearing and prop shaft water seal at engine end were renewed in 2006. Rudder shaft bearings were replaced in 2005. All the keel bolts were replaced with new in 2004 for preventive maintenance. The boot stripe is done in a 2 color/3 stripe pattern of 1 gold over 4 of gloss black over a lower 1 gold on a white hull with a flat black bottom. The freeboard area shows very little wear and tear in its original white surface. She has received an annual buff and wax prior to each of its 4-5 month seasons in the water. She is stored on the hard for the rest of the year when not in use. Regarding those items below the cabin sole the bilge is very clean dry and odor free. Overall the vessel is in exceptional condition and provides much more pleasure than need for service.she is truly a pleasure craft.
BROKER\'S REMARKS
Prime Directive has been cruised primarily in the Caribbean for four to six months per year. It has been maintained in Bristol condition. Currently on the hard in Virgin Gorda it is fully equipped and ready to launch for its next romp through the Islands. This is a great opportunity for someone to get on a well found vessel and begin in Paradise rather than starting with a 1500 mile beat to windward.
