Detailed Walkthrough
HAWKEYE has a three cabin layout with centerline queen berths in both the aft owners stateroom and the forward guest cabin. All spaces are air conditioned with heat available too. In addition fans are strategically located throughout the boat to cool the space without turning the A/c on. The forward cabin features a writing/computer desk and an adjacent head with shower. The owners cabin has an ensuite head with tub and shower. The salon is very bright and airy with the table slightly raised for visibility while seated. Ocean Air roller shades / screens on all overhead hatches (2008) and Peed-A-Boo shades on salon windows. An efficient nav desk is to starboard with the electrical panel located outboard.
Galley
The galley is located in the passageway aft to starboard and has a large fridge and separate freezer box powered by independent refrigeration systems. These compressors are 12V to allow for keeping the boxes cool when the boat is left unattended. The galley arrangement works well underway or in port and includes extensive counter space. Deck Sail and Rigging
The cockpit on the Beneteau 44 CC is deep and safe. The high seatbacks are cushioned and very comfortable. There is a well in the cockpit sole for life raft or fender storage. A large dodger and overhead bimini protect the cockpit and provide shelter from sun and wind. All sail handling controls are led aft to the cockpit. Mast mounted winches handle all the halyards (main and genoa are roller furling) and the electric winch at the companionway handles the rest. An electric windlass services the significant ground tackle. There is excellent deck storage forward and aft.
