Artic Seal is a multi-use vessel originally built as a Supply Vessel. She was upgraded during the 1990s. She has the potential to be utilized as a Trawler, Dive Vessel servicing underwater pipelines, a Cargo and/or Freezer Cargo Vessel, Shadow Vessel or even as a Tug. Additionally, she could be converted to an Expedition or Research vessel. Her 30,000 gal fuel tanks give her a range of over 7,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. At 9 knots her range is estimated to be nearly doubled. Tankage could be substantially increased to provide a range in excess of 24,000+ nautical miles depending on speed.
She has accommodations for 24 people. However, this could be increased to approximately 50. Her top deck is approximately 85 long with 31 between the twin exhaust stacks and could accommodate a helicopter and/or mobile crane. The presently installed stern gantry could be lowered to stack level to provide more clearance for helo operations.
Her main/lower deck is 100 long. She has a 22x 60x 9 freezer hold and 2-20x 16x 10 holds that could be converted to carry water or fuel. She is equipped with freeze/packaging gear which could be activated if required.
Artic Seal is powered by two Cat D398 engines which normally operate at low RPM. She has 1-Cat 90kw Genset and a Cat 3406 to power her hydraulics. The owner will supply an additional Genset as required. New bottom recently installed. Hull Plating, Props and shafts are in excellent condition. The owner will work with the prospective buyer to advise and/or convert the vessel to the prospective use.
She was last dry-docked in July 2006.
