In this section you will learn about our search engine, one of the many industry-first technology innovations we developed, called the "BoatRover".

How it works!

After you commence a search on Usedboats.com, and the listings are displayed, it is important to understand that our system has two ways of searching for your desired used boats. First, the system brings up all the used boats in our database. Next, if you would like to find more used boats that are available elsewhere on the Internet, we use our BoatRover search technology to assist you. Once the BoatRover finds the used boats you are seeking, the BoatRover will try to supply you with a current link to that used boat and website (we say "try" because sometimes others have listings that are outdated and therefore inaccurate).

After you entered your search criteria you will see the results (up to 100 per page):

• You can then view the listing by clicking on the entire row. Note, if there are photos available, you will see a ("camera icon"). If you click on this icon, it will also take you into the listing.
• If there is a ("BoatRover icon") in the place of the camera icon, it is intended to indicate that the listing is NOT in our database, but possibly available elsewhere, on another website, not owned or affiliated (in some cases) with Usedboats.com.

Simply click on the and we will send our registered users an email with a link for that boat.

• We do not charge anyone (users or websites) for this service
• We do NOT receive any form of commission from anyone (users or websites)

BoatRover

There are over 100 used boats websites, with anywhere from 10 to 90,000 boats for sale. Based on our research, we estimate that within these websites, there are as many as 190,000 total unique used boats for sale at any given time. The BoatRover tries to assist our users in speeding up this process (search).

The BoatRover is an indexing tool that acts much like a human using any search engine. The BoatRover reaches out to a variety of websites and indexes the publicly-available used boats listed for sale on the Internet.

BoatRover - Questions and Answers

Q.) Does the BoatRover copy listings from other sites and put them in the Usedboats.com database?

A.) The BoatRover has never, or could ever, copy any listings or photographs from a different website and put them in our database. Any listing found through the BoatRover is simply indexed and the user is provided a link directly into the website.

Q.) Once I click on the link and I go to a new website can I look around the new website?

A.) Absolutely. The BoatRover, or Usedboats.com, does NOT, in any way, limit the users ability to navigate these websites once found. In other words, if you find a "Rovered" boat, we will do our best to provide you with a link where that boat can be located.

Q.) Are we still in Usedboats.com when we click on the link?

A.) If users choose to utilize the link we provided them, they click on the link and a NEW window will open with the site that is hosting that particular listing. In other words, it takes our users directly to the website where the boat is located. To further ensure that there is no confusion, there is no "framing" around the listing that may/could/would suggest that it is a Usedboats.com listing.

Q.) After I am done looking at a different website, how do I get back to Usedboats.com?

A.) Users will notice that there is NO back button feature to go back to Usedboats.com. If the user wants to close out of the new site, they MUST close out as they would for any site (or shut off their computer).

Q.) Does Usedboats.com own or share in revenue from a Rovered listing on others websites.

A.) Under NO circumstances does Usedboats.com claim to have ANY rights to that listing or share in any of the revenue.
