Dual purpose boats like this have long been popular with active families who like to mix fishing and cruising, and with her wide beam and generous cockpit, the coastal provides an excellent platform for both activities. Built on a solid fiberglass, deep-V hull, the cabin interior of the 290 is arranged with a convertible dinette/ V-berth forward, a compact galley and head with shower, and a double berth mid cabin. Note that the V-berth backrests swing up to form two pilot berths. On deck, the elevated bridgedeck is fitted with an illuminated baitwell with Lucite window, and tackle storage as well as a double wide helm seat and companion seat to port. In the cockpit, a pair of insulated fish boxes are located just forward of the transom. Additional features include cockpit bolsters, transom door, wide side decks, bow pulpit, and a bait prep center.
